Audrey, what a magnetic sense of wonder you raise up in us here. BRAVO. Few write intimacy so well. I'm especially drawn to this:

“Ptoi, ptoi.” Frieda chased the dream through her fingers and away. “Alright, tell me.”

Your prose reminds me of what Hemingway achieved with In Our Time. It rings with the feel of having been there, steeped in the breath and motion of the room, never far from the wake of a character's thought, willing to let the movement of thought pull you -- and your reader -- deeper into the world of the play. Finely done!

I wonder what gave rise to this story in you!

Thank you, also, for your kind words about She-Rain. More to come on the blog and on FiledBy -- excerpts, a trailer, more reviews -- before launch. Follow us on!

What beautiful characters! I am so looking forward to knowing more about Chaim and Frieda. You really have a gift for painting a picture with words.
I love this chapter! Thanks for sharing it!
